Baseball General Manager & Scouting Course / Training / Sabermetrics | Sports Management Worldwide
This ad says the course started in Fall 2004, but it popped up among the ads served by Google at the askrotoman discussion board. Eight one-hour online chats for college credit? To be a major league GM? Amazing.
Interesting. I’m currently doing an MBA, and my school is doing a short week-long course dubbed “Moneyball”. The course is being co-taught by a Celtics executive and a marketing professor. I’ll let you know more if I win the lottery to get in the course.
“Sports franchises increasingly use analytical approaches in business decisions (e.g. pricing tickets) and sports strategy (e.g. when to bunt). This course will discuss analytical business concepts as they apply to sports management including yield management, decision trees, lifetime value analysis, and price elasticity of demand.”
I’ma high school student. I’m wondering when would you take the baseball GM course(ex senior year in college?)
