Rotoman’s Forecast Challenge Team

If you read Tom Tango’s analysis of his Forecaster Challenge, linked to in the last post, you know that one surprising problem in the exercise was the way small differences in the rankings led to big differences in how many times teams rostered different players in the 1,000 drafts.

For instance, I had Albert Pujols ranked fourth. Other teams ranked him from first to sixth, but I didn’t ever end up with Pujols on any of my teams. In retrospect, that makes good sense, but such clumping wasn’t anticipated. As a result, you can get a pretty good idea about the players each forecaster liked best (at least by a little) by which players ended up on more than 50 percent of his teams.

For the record, here is a list of my most drafted guys (with the number of drafts they were on my roster). This is more heavily weighted toward pitchers than I ever would have made it in a roto ranking, but I was keen on all these pitchers before the season started. I just needed more from Eric Patterson.
