Okay, now I’m grumpy again. I think I just endorsed a BP column. Pretty much without reservation. Then I come across this gem: Pondering Pudge.

The writer wants to know why Ivan Rodriguez’s adjusted stats are higher than his actual stats, in spite of the fact that he played in a hitters park.

The answer is mind boggling: It was accurate for a few years a few years ago to do it this way, so we’re sticking with it, is what Nate Silver says.
